Ahrefs is great at backlinks, keywords, rank tracking. Wrendex is the specialist for technical site audits.
Ahrefs ships an enormous research suite: backlink intelligence, keyword volumes, SERP feature tracking, content gap analysis, rank tracking. Wrendex doesn’t do any of that, and isn’t trying to. We focus on the technical-audit slice: 140+ HTML, link, header, schema, and resource checks; continuous monitoring; deploy-aware regressions; granular alerting. Most of our customers run both. What Ahrefs Site Audit doesn’t check
Four detections we built because our customers asked.
Duplicate-tracker detection
Same analytics provider loaded twice on the same page, one direct snippet, one inside Tag Manager. Inflates pageview counts, doubles TTFB cost. Ahrefs Site Audit doesn’t check this.
Redundant-stylesheet detection
Two templates each pull the same vendor stylesheet on the same render. The cascade picks the second; the first is dead weight. Ahrefs Site Audit doesn’t flag this.
Render-blocking overlap finder
Wrendex maps every render-blocking resource and surfaces overlaps between vendors. Ahrefs reports render-blocking but not the overlap.
Deploy-aware regression diffs
Each audit is diffed against the previous run with severity deltas ranked by traffic impact. Ahrefs gives you raw issue lists; you compare them by hand.
